Get $300 to Explore the USVI

Get paid to take a vacation in the USVI!

The US Virgin Islands are over the hill! On March 31st, we will be celebrating our 100th year as a U.S. territory, an annual event called Transfer Day. To commemorate the 100th Transfer Day, the USVI Department of Tourism is making island visitors an offer that you can’t refuse.

Traditionally, the Transfer Day Commencement is a way to celebrate and highlight the rich, diverse cultural heritage of the islands, as well as to recognize the day the Danish West Indies were purchased by the United States from Denmark in 1917 for $25 million in gold, and became the US Virgin Islands. This year spectators will become acquainted with 100 years of history and culture as the Transfer Day Centennial Commemoration highlights the election of the first USVI governor, the writing of our own constitution, and other significant historical events.

As if you did not already have enough reasons to want to plan your next vacation to your favorite US Territory, as part of the celebration the USVI Department of Tourism is now offering an incentive of $300 in US Virgin Island credits to anyone who books a three-day trip through visitUSVI.com.

What’s the Catch?

Unfortunately, your $300 credit can’t be used towards rum cocktails or anything including miniature umbrellas, in fact, this incentive program is designed to encourage tourists to get off the sand. Your $300 credit must be used at a participating location that focuses on the exploration of the islands and its culture and history. This could mean a visit to an exhibition, a St. Thomas excursion, or snorkeling tours in St. John. To browse other possible activities visit here. Unlike the mounds of junk mail you get back home, the $300 isn’t a coupon with a promise in savings. The incentive comes to you in the mail from the Department of Tourism in paper form to use just like cash at participating locations.

Where Do I Sign Up?

To be eligible for this incentive program there are a few requirements and regulations. You must book your trip through visitUSVI.com at one of the participating hotels (see list below), using the promo code “CP1” or “CP17”. Your stay must be a minimum of three nights (but three nights of island paradise might not be too big of a burden to bear). You must book your trip before October 2017, and be traveling between January 2, 2017 and December 31, 2017. Anyone visiting in the month of March (during the actual Centennial) will also receive a special commemorative souvenir from the Department of Tourism.
